About Roger D. Isaacs
Mr. Isaacs is an independent researcher specializing in Hebrew Bible studies. Beginning in the early 1950s, Isaacs worked with his father, the noted hematologist and biblical scholar Dr. Raphael Isaacs, on the early makings of the theory propounded in Talking With God: The Radioactive Ark of the Testimony. Their collaboration culminated in a monograph entitled “Puzzling Biblical Laws” (Bloch, 1965).
After his father’s death in 1965, Isaacs continued the quest, researching extensively in the archives of the Oriental Institute at the University of Chicago and the Spertus Institute for Jewish Studies, as well as at digs, museums, and libraries in a number of countries including Syria, Jordan, Turkey, Egypt, Israel, and England. He worked on the linguistics aspect of the research, particularly Ugaritic, Assyrian, and Babylonian, with a doctoral candidate at the Oriental Institute, where he is a member of the visiting committee.
Mr. Isaacs attended the University of Chicago and the University of Wisconsin, Madison. His education was interrupted by World War II, during which he served with the 87th Infantry Division in France and Germany and received the Purple Heart and the French Legion of Honor. After the war Isaacs continued his education at Bard College and graduated with a degree in Language and Literature.
Isaacs was an executive with The Public Relations Board, an international public relations agency, from 1948 until his retirement in 1992. He served as Chairman and President until he sold the company to a communications conglomerate.
Isaacs has two children, four grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He lives in Glencoe, Illinois with his wife Joyce.
